The brutal killings of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, and Ahmaud Arbery have once again laid bare the legacy of racism, violence, marginalization, and injustice against Black Americans that has plagued our nation since before its inception. We at Neighborhood Health stand in solidarity with the Black community and against systemic racism and injustice.
May 22, 2020 – Letter from Dr. Khan, Executive Director
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to disproportionately affect our patient population. Our testing results are still showing high rates of infection with approximately 50% coming back positive. Our hope is that by continuing to ramp up testing, providing support to affected families, and assisting with contact tracing and isolation efforts, we can help turn the corner for our patients, families, and communities.
April 6, 2020 – Letter from Dr. Khan, Executive Director
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to accelerate in our community. At the time of this writing, there have been 4,249 reported cases in the DC Metropolitan area and 90 deaths. In Northern Virginia, there have been 1,186 reported cases and 18 deaths. Nationally, we have passed a grim milestone with over 10,000 reported deaths.

As the COVID-19 pandemic dramatically affects our community, I wanted to share some updates from us at Neighborhood Health. Now, more than ever, our patients need our care, support, and solidarity. Our patients count on us for their most basic health care needs. It is imperative that we continue to meet their basic health care needs through this crisis, especially given that our emergency rooms and hospitals will be overburdened in the coming weeks and months. We must do our part to ensure that our patients do not have to rely on our emergency rooms and hospitals.

Neighborhood Health Awarded Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation from The Joint Commission
Neighborhood Health has been awarded The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Ambulatory Health Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its nationally recognized standards. Neighborhood Health is now among only 20% of health centers in Virginia that have achieved Ambulatory Care Accreditation from The Joint Commission. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective patient care.
