WJLA-TV – ‘So much need’: Neighborhood Health provides primary care to Afghan refugees in Virginia

Thank you Heather Graf and WJLA-TV for highlighting our partnership with Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, Catholic Charities Diocese of Arlington, and Ethiopian Community Development Council, Inc. to provide primary health care to newly arrived Afghan refugees in Northern Virginia.
“They have lots of healthcare needs. Obviously there’s the mental trauma from everything they’ve been through, but in addition they need vaccinations, they need physicals, they need medications for chronic diseases,” Khan said. “And you’re only able to do that if they have an established doctor or clinician with whom they can work.” – Dr. Basim Khan, Executive Director
