Karen Jupiter

Karen Jupiter, CFRE, serves as Director of Philanthropy and Communications at Neighborhood Health, where she leads the organization’s fundraising, donor engagement, and communications efforts.

Karen has more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, philanthropy, and strategic communications. A Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE), she has spent her career helping mission-driven organizations grow their impact through innovative fundraising strategies, compelling storytelling, and meaningful community engagement.

Prior to joining Neighborhood Health, Karen served as Vice President of Development at The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit dedicated to advancing patient safety and healthcare quality. She also held leadership roles at Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation, where she helped secure philanthropic support for groundbreaking cancer research and patient programs, and at Good Shepherd Housing & Family Services, where she spent more than a decade building and growing the organization’s development program.

Originally from Alexandria, Virginia, Karen is especially proud to serve the community she calls home. Her deep connection to Northern Virginia and passion for healthcare access make Neighborhood Health’s mission deeply personal. Karen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Public Policy from William & Mary, graduating cum laude with a minor in Economics.
