Neighborhood Health offers primary medical care services including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, as well as onsite laboratory services in most of our clinics. We provide regular physicals, well-child visits, urgent/sick visits, chronic disease management, women’s health, prenatal care, and preventive services such as vaccines and cancer screenings. We provide referrals for services that we do not offer including specialty care.
We accept almost all major insurance including Medicare, Medicaid, and most private insurance plans. We accept all Medicaid plans. For a detailed list of insurance plans that we accept, pleaseclick here. If your insurance is not listed please call our office for more information.
Yes, many of our providers speak languages other than English. Pleaseclick herefor more information. In addition, we have a phone interpreter service available for most languages
Yes, we have a patient portal. Patients can check labs and other medical information, communicate with members of their care team, update information, and request appointments. There is also an iPhone application available to our patients.
In the event of an emergency, please seek care at a local emergency room. For existing Neighborhood Health patients we also have an after-hour nurse advice line with a back-up provider on call. Please note that this service is only for existing Neighborhood Health patients. It can be reached by calling our main number, (703) 535-5568.

Our focus is meeting the needs of our service area, which includes the City of Alexandria, Arlington County, Fairfax County, Fairfax City and Falls Church City. If you live outside our service area, there may be other health centers that are closer to you.
Patients without insurance or who need discounts because of high co-pays and deductibles should first make an appointment with an eligibility specialist. Our eligibility specialists will verify household income. Patients need to renew eligibility annually or earlier if there is a change in income.
For patients who earn less than 200% of the federal poverty level (FPL,click here), we provide discounts. This is also available to insured patients who earn less than 200% FPL, to help reduce copays and deductibles. Please call our office for more information.

We offer assistance with health insurance enrollment and referrals to social services.
We do not offer radiology tests (except for dental x-rays) and limited ultrasounds. We will provide you with an order to get radiology tests at a local facility.
We do not offer specialty care at Neighborhood Health. If you need to see a specialist, our primary care provider will give you a referral. Our referral coordinators will work with you to facilitate an appointment with a specialist and ensure that your primary care provider gets the records.
We offer brief interventions and counseling sessions for both adults and children and medications in some cases. Cases that we are unable to manage are referred to a psychiatrist or the local community services boards. Please note that due to our integrated model of care our behavioral health services are reserved for patients who receive their primary medical care at Neighborhood Health.
We offer dental exams and screenings, X-rays, oral health education, sealants, fillings, extractions, pulpotomies, limited root canals, and stainless steel crowns for children. We do not perform bridges, implants, or crowns for adults. Due to capacity constraints, dental services are only for existing medical patients.
