About Neighborhood Health
Neighborhood Health is a non-profit, community health center that serves over 30,000 low-income, primarily uninsured patients from the City of Alexandria, Arlington County and most of Fairfax County. The health center has been providing primary health care in Northern Virginia for more than 23 years. Neighborhood Health provides high quality medical, dental and behavioral health care for the whole family at 13 clinics. In addition, we provide family support services, medication assistance, on-site lab services, care and case management of HIV+ patients, and insurance enrollment assistance.
Our patients represent some of the most vulnerable populations. Eighty-three (83%) percent of our patients are either uninsured (51%) or on Medicaid (32%). Our patients come from low-income families – 98% have household incomes below 200% FPL.
Many of our patients have health issues that require continual care and may put them at increased risk for severe complications from COVID-19, such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, kidney failure, and obesity.
